Before you leave…
Did you know this?
Every gesture counts. Your support can become a life jacket, a warm blanket, or the medical care someone desperately needs.

The night we rescued Josepha, we sailed seven hours to reach her. We saw a half-sunken boat; we thought no one had survived. But suddenly, miraculously, a woman moved her hand. It was Josepha. She had been there for hours, in the water. Of all her fellow passengers, only she had managed to survive.
During the days we sailed toward a welcoming port, Josepha told us her story and what her journey had been like since leaving Cameroon. Back home, she was a teacher and dreamed of becoming a mother one day. But Josepha married someone who didn't love her and hurt her, so she had to flee her country.
